My dog likes treats, but sometimes she will not eat what we offer her... she only likes freeze dried liver, but she isn't allowed to have that unless it is a special occasion. Any suggestions?

lol part of me wishes I had your problem. My dogs favorites treat is the bones from the butcher. My smallest one she like bacon strips and raw hide chips that it. My moms dog likes peanut butter bones. Maybe try getting one of those toys you can put peanut butter or yogurt in and try that out

Be glad, treats aren't that good for them, and really keep that freeze dried liver for really special occasions, organ meats are not good for them, I give my dogs, slices of apples, cored & no seeds (seeds are poison to a dog) try a carrot mine don't like them, just if I cook them, makes them sweeter so I add them to kibble, try a sweet potato bake it and you can scoop it out & put in their bowl I cook a couple at a time but only give a big tablespoon, also I get frozen blueberries, in the summer fresh if their a descent price, the frozen are expensive but they don't go bad like fresh and they work out cheaper I just defrost about 10 per dog & give them mixed with a couple tablespoons of plain lowfat ypgurt not no fat, or cottage, my Lab gets 1/2 a banana she's the only one who likes them, seems like trouble but you get into a routine & its easy sweet potato can be done 1x a week a give a bit each day, apples I slice 2 or 3 red delicious put in a bag in fridge & give them, they turn brown when sliced but there still fine, feed according to what you think your dog can handle you don't give a yorkie 1/2 an apple or they'll be pooping for a week, my dogs are big I have 3 smallest 75lbs, largest over 90, so feed accordingly, always check if you thin of different things to give some fruits are poison to dogs grapes & raisin's can cause renal failure, some even love pumpkin, no spices just plain out of the can No pie filling, some of these things are good for loose stools too the pumpkin & sweet potato can be mixed in with kibble if he likes it, it will be like 1 big treat, hope some of it works, we probably enjoy seeing them eat dog treats more than they like them, also for teeth I get raw marrow bones from butcher, fit them to you dogs size, not small enough that they can swallow them they just eat the marrow but have to work on the bone & it scrapes the tarter off, feed outside or on a floor that can be cleaned, with spring coming outside will be nice they are messy, marrow is greasy but healthy grease, my oldest is a greyhound 16 1/2 never had to have her teeth done, look like a 1 yr old's. never give a cooked bone, good luck.
