What a sad, sad story.

I believe there are two answers to the problem. The first is that there need to be harsher laws for animal abuse. A person who would hurt animals probably doesn't have much regard for any life in general.

The second solution is more humane education, especially for children. We need to get people when they're still young and teach them about respecting life and being a good citizen of the world.

We need to educate our politians and email call and fax them everytime there is an issue on national or local level so they know how we feel.

Sad journal about the mama cat & her kittens.

I think humane education beginning at an early age (and continuing) is a good start. I also believe that tougher penalties against those who harm animals need to be sought. And, of course, spaying and neutering, to reduce pet overpopulation.
