How can I reduce my dog’s urge to “mount”?

Chosen Answer

Neutering a male dog (castrated, technically speaking, or fixed) can reduce several annoying tendencies by about 50 percent likelihood or frequency, including mounting.

Hormonal changes after neutering also might make male dogs less aggressive toward other male dogs; less inclined to try to be dominant over the owner or other people; not so likely to urine-mark inside the house; and not so much of a roamer.

Bottom line: fixed is good.
