Well I know your situation is probley different from mine but when my 20 year old passed away it killed me. I started volunteer work at my shealter and saw there were plenty of other dogs that need my love and care to and that were in allot worse situations than I. I have since then poored my heart in volunteer work with animals and people. There is always someone or somthing out there in worse shape than you and it will make you feel good to make them feel good.

stay as busy as possible. maybe help out at a local shelter? i couldn't imagine being away from my babies that long - i'd probably spend the whole three weeks crying! what i do know though is that, for me, the only thing that keeps my mind off of my litter when i have to be away is other animals. particularly, helping other animals. a friend in need is a friend indeed.

You could look at the photos that you have of them and remember all the joy that they brought you. If your dogs are like my cats, you can't help but smile when you look at their photos because it reminds you of all their mischievous times and funny habits! Then...on your calender, you could mark out the days until they return which would show you everyday that their return is getting closer.
