Q: How can I put 1 of 3 cats on a weight reduction diet?

I started feeding smaller amounts at distinct times during the day. But the one on the diet, Rio, always manages to eat the leftovers of the skinny cat. She also was very obvious in her displeasure of any attempt at limiting the food. I worry about her health.

I would separate the two animals.... place them in different rooms. When done eating if there is food leftovers, just pickup and save for another meal.

That's a hard one. I had two cats, each on their own special diet. I fed them in separate rooms, fully supervising each feeding time, and removing the leftover food when they walked away. They were each fed twice per day and that's it. Good luck. I know it's hard.

If you have a crate I would crate the fat cat and make sure the smaller one gets to eat all of it's food b4 letting fat cat out! There's really not any other way to control that.

I have the same problem. Joey is overweight and receives different food. I feed them in separate rooms and don't allow grazing. They're fed twice daily. I also try to get Joey to play with different toys to keep her moving. Good luck!
