Q: How can I make grooming fun for my guinea pig???
My guinea pig, Oreo is a show guinea pig. He is a Coronet and he has to be groomed since he has long hair. I take pride in taking the best care of my guinea pigs as possible, and I really find grooming time a little stressful. He always gets SO upset when I brush his hair and put it up in wraps. It really hurts me to see him upset, but I know it has to be done. Does anyone have any tips on how to make grooming fun for Oreo and I? Thanks for any suggestions as they are really appreciated.

i love to groom my silkie (ellie). i always give her a carrot or apple during or after grooming so that she has something to look forward to! and also, ur piggy will get used to hair wrapping. ellie doesnt realy care any more when i hair wrap her so dont worry. its only temperary!

if it needs to be done it needs to be done and that is not always fun think about how you feel when you clean the cage or do dishes. But you can do fur die, nail polish and little ginea pig outfits and use really good smelling shampoo. You could even design your own line of ginea pig clothing and let your ginea pig be the first one to wear the out fits down the catwalk.

Oh one other thing when I didn't clean or feed my dwarf hamsters for a couple of days when I had them they ate one of the other hamster's in the cage. cleaning and feeding may not be fun but it has to be done and it is rewarding to you when you get the affection back from your pet.
