Regular brushing & proper nutrition are your best defense against shedding. Grooming keeps their skin & coat healthy & gets rid of the loose hair. There are a variety of grooming products available to fit the needs of every pet. I use the Bamboo FurBuster, which is like the Furminator but it has interchangeable blades/combs of different sizes. I use every week or two on my long-haired cats. You have to use caution when using these tyes of products so its always good to have other brushes & combs to use for daily grooming. I often use a Zoom Groom which also pulls a lot of hair off of them while massaging them. They tolerate prolonged grooming with it much better. My long-haired cats get brushed every day. Most of the time, my short-haired cats do too, just because they love it & its good bonding time.

Make sure your cats are getting a quality food with plenty of vitamins & fatty acids to promote healthy skin & coat too.

I have used both the furminator and the shed ender on my pets. The furminator seems to work better for me. There are also treats available that are supposed to decrease shedding, but honestly, I haven't had much luck with these.

I sell the Furminator and my cats loved to be brushed and it does work. It will cut your shedding way down. With 8 cats I had to do something, I reccomend the Furminator for cats. It will be the last comb you ever buy.Visit my website at Dixiepets.com

Shed ender is an as seen on tv product that removes the undercoat. www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/shed_ender.html?gid=TOOL_OUTDOOR_PET
(or look for a brush with the same kind of brush thingy)

Depending on if you can get your cat to sit still, it is awesome :) My cat usually will let me do it for a good 10-15 minutes before wanting me to stop. And usually you get a nice pile of fur off :) hope this helps!
