how long has he been on this diet? In any case, give it time. How active is Chi? Getting any kind of exercise on a regular basis is a good idea. Also, how many meals a day does Chi eat? Try cutting it down a bit even if he is on a low-cal diet. I hope this advice helps.

cutting back on treats and calories is a slow dieting process w/o added exercise. he should be going on a 30 minute walk every day, two 20 minute walks would be better right now though. also, engage him in active play for about 20 minutes each day and you'll start seeing the weight come off.

I agree with Jillian; I would make sure your chi is also getting plenty of exercise. It is a slow process, just like with people and the best way is to make sure you cut calorie intake and increase the calories burned off. I would also say that I have freqently noticed that the amount the bag says to feed may be too much; work with your vet to make sure your dog is getting the appropriate amount and that the weight comes off at a safe rate.
