Q: Horse

March 15, 2011 | By Dogz37 | 2 answers | Expired: 1306 days ago

Okay, so I've figured out a way to keep a healthy horse for $4,200 a year (plus any extras to be put away in case of emergency). But their is only one horse I want, but it is 15 thousand dollars and their is zero chance I can save up that much before I go off to colledge. Soooo, how do I convince my parents to get me a 15 thousand dollar horse, and I'm allready doing all that I can to prove I am mature and ready for a horse!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you check out rescued horses or, if you can stomach it, a horse auction? $15,000 is incredible for a horse considering the masses who really need homes. You could rescue a horse otherwise sentenced to slaughter for under a grand...usually only for a few hundred, sometimes less. Great horses, too. Just recently the great grand daughter of the legendary Secretariat was rescued from going to slaughter after spending a few years as a racing horse herself.

I know you might have fallen in love with this fifteen thousand dollar horse! but, i think i better option, (especially if this is your first horse!) is to get a horse more between 1 and 5,000......You never know you might get sick of your horse after a year and lose interest especially if you will be going to college! So that would be a gib waste on fifteen thousand dollars....lol.....but if you REALLY want this horse show your parents you're responsible enough to care for it...You could volunteer at barns, muck stalls, exercise horses ect ect...to get more experience! good luck! :)
