Q: Homemade Dog Food?

Homemade Dog Food?

I have a Great Dane puppy, Daisy, who will be a year old next month. She's on the larger size and I'm worried about the extent of her life and so I was thinking about making her own dog food at home, naturally and organically. Does anyone know of a website or recipe that I could look into?

IVE BEEN DOIN SOME RESEARCH LOOKING TO MAKE MY DOGS FOOD TOO! BUT I DO KNOW THAT THERE ARE DOG FOODS OUT THERE JUST AS GOOD AS WHAT WE COULD MAKE. AT THIS TIME IM FEEDING KODI ONLY FOODS THAT SAY HUMAN GRADE MEATS. AND NO PRESERVATIVES OR ANY ARTIFICIAL COLORINGS.

If you are going to make your own food be aware that you may need to add vitamins and do more oral care. The hard kibble tends to keep teeth clean and a home made diet tends to be soft. Also with a large breed dog this could be expensive and time consuming and possible not get a well balanced diet. Your dog is still growing if it is only 1 yr old and a Great Dane. There is still skeletal and muscle development occurring!

Nice idea about the homemade dog food, but just a option for you, Eukanuba is a very good brand. Try that one to see if your dog would enjoy that, most dogs I see trying it, love it! It builds muscle, helps them grow better, and cleans tarder off teeth, and many more! Try it(: They have differant brands of them, one for active dogs, small dogs, ect.
