I was just wondering how long Hens and Roosters live for cause even though we live in the city it is now leagal to own them in Longview if you have a big enough back yard we can afford them but still need to do some more reasearch before we can even think about getting four hens so how long do hens live for is what I am asking?

The average life expectancy is 5 to 7 years, but a lot depends on the breed, environment, care, & predators. Some live well beyond that average, some not as long.
