Q: Help! How do you get your cat unaddicted to canned food??

My grandma stayed with us for a few weeks, along with her cat. While she was feeding her cat, my cat, Blusky came into the kitchen so my grandma gave her a little bit, now all she wants is canned food! Anyone else ever have this problem????

Your cat will eat when it gets hungry enough. I am just starting to alternate the wet and dry food for my cats. My vet let me know that feeding only dry food and leaving a full bowl of food for my cats at all times, could lead to obesity. I'm going to give it a shot.

I agree with lucas. The same thing happened with me. I started feeding him dry mixed with wet and eventually little by little he was back on dry and that worked just fine. Now if I give him wet food it's only a little bit for a treat once in a while.

I agree with Jessica- feed your cat it's regular food. Soon your cat will get hungry and eat the food you provide- don't cave in!

I'd say just ween her off. If she rejects the dry food alone try mix a little bit of canned food with the dry. Then next time you feed just take all the canned food away. :)

Only offer dry food :)
The cat has your grandmother trained, don't let her fool you :)
