I took in an old girl back in November and have never completely got her allergies under control and now with spring here she is miserable. So far the only thing that really seems to help is prednisone and she cannot stay on that long term. I had an allergy test done and she came back with 37 known allergies and will start her shots next week. I am hope that I am not just throwing away money and that this will be the answer for her Has anyone had any luck with these shots?

I have never had to do the shots for any of my babies, but a friend of mine does shots for her horse and it has made a huge difference. Good luck.

I've never done the desensitization shots with any of my pets. They have gotten the occasional steroid shot for whatever allergen was in the air that was bothering them...usually once a year does it because they're long-acting. All I know, is that I used to work for an allergist and was on allergy shots myself for years, and my allergies are about 10 times worse since doing them. :-/
