I like the durable type nylabone with the knuckle like thing on one end for my boxer. These last pretty good for him, around 2 months or so. I have a kong also but he makes a giant mess when I fill it up.

I've heard alot of good comments on the Kong toys. They come in different sizes to fit different breeds. You should be able to fill them with peanut butter, dog biscuts or any other (healthy) food your dog likes. Peanut butter helps them channel their energy because they have to lick it out.

I have a 8 year old border collie that sounds a whole LOT like him, I would try the Hyper Stick or Hyper Dummy. They are made of REALLY THICK rubber,I know it sounds chewable, but she can chew up absolutely everything and she still hasn't managed to chew this up. You can buy ti at your local Wal-Mart.

when we had my big dog freckles (who we adopted from phs! (:) my dad brought home this rubber toy that could withstand any dog out there so i would try that if i were you. the only problem is that when it gets covered in saliva, it sqeaks.

We got Kongs for both our girls.Everytime we'd buy them toys it would be ripped apart within an hour. The Kongs have worked great for us.

My dog went through a lot of toys to. So we tried tennis balls and rope toys and they have lasted a while.

Personally, my dog loves tennis balls. They're not very big, but they do last quite a while and they're very cheap. Good Luck!!

Kongs and Nylabones---they are the only ones that come close to withstanding the jaws of my 3 German Shepherds!!! If you stuff the kongs with peanut butter they spend a lot of time trying to get it out, and THEN they chew, so keeps them occupied longer!!
Good Luck!!

Nylabones (wolf size) and Kongs get my vote. Next would be rope toys with lots of knots. Yummy.....!!!!!

I'll put in my vote for the Kong, I've had one for 9 years and it's still going strong. The Jolly Balls are good too.
