At the end of the block I live on there is a female great dane named zoey she barks constently because she is always left in the back yard with nothing to do. the yard is way too small for a great dane in the first place. Also when the owners get home all they do is say bad dog and slap her. But what do they excpect when she has nothing to do all day long. I have tried calling sevral places and no one will help. Have any ideas anyone? I have also tried talking to the owners already.

this is so sad... i have a great dane so this really pulls @ my heart strings... they need so much room to stretch their legs out & run... like any furkid, they need positive interaction, of which she is not getting...

i know there are several great dane rescues... have you checked if there is 1 in your area or close...?? any rescue that may help...? doesnt need to be breed specific, just furkid lovers that may have room & rsorces... they perhaps may be able to help... hopefully the owners realize they are over their head with this poor girl & will give her up...

if not... keep after animal control... there has to be something that can be done for her...

Call Animal Control. That's what they're there for!

If you have already called animal control and they say they can not help, maybe you can offer to walk the dog during the day for them. I have been doing this for a few neighbors since I was laid off and they appreciate it so much and it keeps me and Shara out there walking, just a thought.
