Q: Good Filter

I have 5 tanks in my house, and all have the Marineland Penguin filters of different sizes. They last for years, the filters are cheap and easy to find, and they also have a bio-wheel to promote good bacterial growth. They hang on the outside, so it doesn't take up all the space in the tank, and they are nice and quiet. Hope this helps :)

Looks way more high-tech than anything I'd buy for my fish, and they do all right... I say go for it

they're OK, but less than ideal. Ideally, an external canister filter such as those by Fluval is a MUCH better choice, and don't take up nearly as much of the tank.
