Q: Ginger, our dog, gets car sick every time we travel. Does any one have helpful suggestions?

Giving her treats during or before the ride DOESN"T WORK, because she will just throw them up. We already don't give her food and water when we're taking her in a car. By the way, she can't be in a carrier when in the car, she rides in a seat.

Try ginger snaps :) I know it sounds odd, but I heard that advice given to somene else and then saw an experiment about it on TV. Apparently, ginger has been used for years to settle stomachs. It worked for us!

My friends dog got car sick when they went for a car ride and she had the dog lay on the floor on a blanket, and it worked for her dog. But you may have already tried this.

Oh another food for thought -- please consult with your vet before giving your pet ANY OTC MEDICATION for the correct dosage and if it is even safe to use in your pet, but having said that, I have heard Dramamine works to help pets with car sickness.
