For Shelter Workers, What are the words or phrases you most hate to hear at your shelter?
My biggest pet peeve from a visitor is "I have to 'get rid of him/her' ". They talk like they are getting rid of a worn our pair of shoes rather than a beloved friend. I HATE that phrase. What makes you angry?

The phrases Kill and No Kill......it creates divisiveness within our profession and confusion for the public.

One that irritates me is, "I'm moving into an apartment that doesn't allow pets." Hmmmmm...seems to me that maybe they should keep looking.

I hate that phrase too! "Get rid of" sounds so final. Another one of my pet peeves is the people that bring a pet in because they're moving and can't take the pet. But then you keep seeing their very distinctive vehicle all over town. Moving - yeah right! The people that bring pets in and are honest that they can no longer keep the pets due to the economy break my heart.
