I recommend Frontline and Advantage equally to the customers at the Vet Clinic I work for. If you live in an area where there are ticks then Frontline might be a better choice for you as Advantage only kills fleas and Frontline kills flea eggs, fleas and ticks. There is also Advantix but this product is not recommended for use if your dog comes into contact with cats as it is fatal to cats. Do not use store brands I can't say how many pets I have seen at the vet clinic that had symptoms of liver failure after using store brands.

Everyone I know uses Frontline to keep the fleas and ticks off. It works well, even on the barn dogs.

Personally I use Frontline Plus and have never had any problems with it - I think it works great! I would just like to caution you to please avoid Hartz drops which are available over the counter at any store - Hartz drops have been indicated in many cases of skin irritation, sickness, and even death in many cats.

I did not have any luck with Frontline on my cats and my son had no luck with it on his dogs. Advantage has worked well for me. A friend of mne swearsw by Revolution. I just tried it so don't konw yet. It is for everything like Advantage Plus.

Frontline is the best! I have also used Nature's Guardian - no pesticides & it works too. I received free samples of Bio Spot - I would Never buy it! My dogs never had fleas until I used it!

Personally, I think Frontline Plus is the best. It works great and is waterproof. It does not smell bad and does not leave any greasy mess like Harts drops do. I used to use Harts and it is just a greasy smelly mess!

Frontline Plus or K-9 Advantix are probably your best bet. I have used both and they work great. I agree that the Hartz products are NO GOOD!! Also stay away from the new product on the market. It's called Promeris. I have wrote a journal on this on a while back and also know people who's pets have had horrible reactions from this product. I also asked my vet about this one and he said that the chemicals are different and if the animal gets it in their mouth or nose by licking the fur or other pets that have been treated, it does has some nasty side effects.
