Q: Ever have to raise orphaned doves or other birds?

Ever have to raise orphaned doves or other birds?

Today I thought the mama dove who sits outside our windo was MIA, leaving her newly hatched young. She came back more than 40 minutes later but I did still google Care of baby doves just in case. We have several neighborhood cats that walk the wall next to the nest.

Has any one had to raise any orphaned birds? Also, for how long of a time do the moms leave the nest ?
