Q: Effective multiple cat litter?

I am in search of a cat litter that is earth friendly but it seems like all of the ones that i've tried don't work well at all. They all start to smell horrible after just a few uses. Feline pine, swheat scoop, the recycled news paper kind... they all LOOK like they'd be good but for having multiple cats they are not. Has anyone tried "worlds best cat litter"???? I guess its made from corn. Just wondering if anyone can give me feedback on that brand or suggest a brand that works well, smells good and is better for the environment than clay is.

Many of the cat rescuers I know use World's best & swear by it. Its kind of expensive though. It has the same ingredients as "Layer Crumbles" that you can get at a feed store for much less. Here's a website put up by a rescuer/shelter volunteer comparing the two: catsadored.com/NEAR%20PERFECT%20LITTER/NEAR_PERFECT_LITTER.htm

I rescue/foster as well but haven't tried it yet. I use Feline Pine, Yesterday's News, as well as Tidy Cat Clumping for those who don't like the pellets. I scoop twice a day & haven't had any odor problems with any of them. I also have one litter box per cat.

Fresh Step Crystals are the best product ever invented! and no, i don't work for fresh step. This product absorbs all of the urine in such a way that it doesn't clump and the peed on litter is still usable. The little doesn't stick to the poop, therefore, I can just scoop and flush. My cats love it and i only have to change it every 2 months! as far as the scent goes, there is no smell to it at all! its wonderful! I recommend this product to every one with cats as it changed my life. My house no longer has that filthy litter stink smell to it. People don't even know I have a cat by the smell of my house. Its great! I'm not sure how eco friendly it is, but since you have to change it less often, I'm sure its better than like Johnny Cat (ew). Also, it comes with a rewards system called paw points. So if anyone uses fresh step products, and doesn't use the paw points, send um on over this way! lol! Hope this helped!

My boys use The World's Best Cat Litter. So far, so good. I just make sure that I do my share and clean it daily. No dust either...I like that.

I have the same problem. I want to use an environmentally friendly litter, but I have multiple cats. I have tried feline pine and yesterdays news. Neither worked as well as the tidy cat with tidy lock. My cats do not like the pellets. Tiger refuses to use it, even if it is mixed with tidy cats. I have not tried worlds best.

We do have multiple litter boxes and we clean the litter boxes several times a day.

Good luck!

I have always found plain clay litter the best and I add baking soda in to it to help with odor control.

I've heard wonderful things about The World's Best Cat Litter. I tried but unfortunately my cats refused to use it! If you try it, make sure you gradually introduce to their litter box like the package suggests. I didn't and I think that's why my cats rebelled! Good luck!

"World's Best Cat litter" does work very well, as does Litter Pearls. Litter Pearls works very well on controling the ammonia smell from urine, as well as stool. You can also get a litter pearl scoop to scoop out the stool daily (but it does not clump). If you have multiple cats, you should have multiple litter boxes, even if they are fine with sharing, and scoop them out atleast once a day. Oops just saw your good for the environment, I belive Litter Pearls is made from silica so it probably isn't very environment friendly. I would say World's Best is probably your best bet, I used it for rabbits, cat, and rats and thought it worked very well. Also when I worked in a pet shop we sold alot to very happy customers.

I think feline pine is great. It's immediately neutralizes the urine smell so there's no ammonia in the air and is a great green product...however, you have to scoop the poop asap b/c it doesn't have any additives to cover the poop smell. It's a catch...green or not....scoop more often or less..
