Q: Doggie cough Syrup?
Does anyone know if they make cough syrup for dogs?

There are medicines for canine coughs...including syrups, tablets, capsules, & sprays...but you need to know what's causing the cough. A persistent cough in a dog can indicate respiratory problems, heart problems, kennel cough, viral or bacterial infections, allergies, digestive tract disorders, parasites, & other illnesses & disorders. Different types of coughs are treated with different medications & if the cough is a symptom of a larger illness, that illness has to be treated as well. If it's allergies, antihistamines are often used; if the dog coughs up mucus, expectorants are usually prescribed; dry coughs are treated with cough suppressants depending on the underlying cause of the cough.
