Q: Dog tags?

I'm just curious to see how many owners keep all of their dogs' tags on at all times.

My dogs have:
1. the ID tag with thier names and my information on it
2. their rabies tags
3. the city license tags
4. the tags that have the Home Again chip # on it

I definitely understand why all the tags are important for the dogs to wear, but there are just so many!

ChiChi is a very small dog; having a collar full of jingly tags is bulky and uncomfortable. She wears only the one with my information on it, but she never strays from my side. Gunther, master of slipping out the door, has all of his on at all times.

I recently heard that the city actually requires you to have the license tag on your dog at all times, does anyone know if that's true, or if it varies from city to city?

Which tags do you think are the most important? Which tags do your dogs wear at all times?

I always keep the id tag with my address and phone number, the rabies tag and their chip tags. I feel more secure if they get out that they would be returned if they had their address tags on.

I had a dog in my neighborhood get out and she lost her collar, I had to take her to 2 places before I found the right scanner for her chip. I hope everyone would do that, but I am guessing probably not.
