Dog Smells

Does anyone have a remedy for a room that smells like my dog. It does not smell like urine, just like a dog. It is pretty strong and I have opened the window, sprayed freshner, steam cleaned the carpet and nothing helps.
Does anyone have a remedy?????

We have two dogs. A couple times a week we spray fabreeze on their dog beds and all the throw rugs in the house. I was their beds weekly too.

I live by my steam cleaner for my carpet! I thought about renting one but then I realized my puppies are only a year old. I'll be renting one for 12 yrs plus. The $100-$200 dollar investment (depending on brand) is so worth it. If you get a decent (those 60 dollar ones are not worth it) one, some come with the removable peices and hoses for upholstery. Not sure what kind of couches you may have but I'm sure you can test it.

Nothing works better than Zero Odor.

There's a website, zeroodor.com

I've tried so many things and could not
believe how well it worked on lots of stuff.

Make sure you have your dog checked by the vet. Some skin problems can make a dog smell more than they should. Also have his ears checked. Both problems are not always visible.

Are you trying to remove from a carpet or furniture? If the carpets smell like dog rent a carpet cleaner and get a shampoo specially for animals. I find that fabreeze works good with furniture. You can also rent a steam cleaner attachment to use on furniture but be sure to check for colorfastness first.

You could have the carpets cleaned. The smell gets into the carpet then it is more difficult to get rid of it.

Sometime you can use Borax powder bleach.I used it when I had a cat years ago. When he got older he had problems urinating outside the box.We sprinkled it around on the carpet and left it there for awhile.Or you could try strait baking soda sprinkled on the carpet and leave it on the carpet for an hour or so.With baking soda you can put it anywhere. It could be on your furniture also.I steam cleaned my couch and it seemed to help with my doggy smell too.
