Q: Dog Boots

I walk Samson around areas with hot pavement quite regularly and I try to avoid it, but we're out and about everywhere so it's hard to totally steer clear. I am considering getting "dog boots" so that his pads will be totally protected from the pavement. I have always seen that dogs walk weird after the boots are put on, and I am wondering if Samson will eventually get used to them or if it's going to be more of a nuisance than a help. If anyone has had experience using these I would really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

It really just all depends. Animals react to things differently. You'll never know how your dog will react to the boots unless you get them.

I've used the boots but my girl did not like them. She would hobble around like her feet hurt. I asked some other pet people about this and found out that some dogs have very sensitive pads on their feet. Its like some humans who have very sensitive feet or hands. For these dogs they never "get used" to the feel of the boot on the paw. The only way to really know is to try it out on your guy and see. If after a few tries he seems really miserable then give the boots the "boot".
