Q: Does my dog drink enough water?

How much water should my dog drink?
Your dog should drink as much as an ounce of water per pound (of your dog’s weight) each day, depending on the weather and level of activity.
A healthy dog’s thirst is internally regulated — the “I don’t know why but I feel like another drink of water” principle. Sometimes that’s as little as ½ an ounce of water per pound. Sometimes more. Drastic changes in a dog’s drinking habits should be brought to the attention of your veterinarian.
Provide a little more fresh clean water than your dog might drink each day. And on hot days, ice is nice.
