Here is a really simple one I have found.... my dogs and my neighbor's dogs really like these. I use a little bone cookie cutter. Your whole house will smell like peanut butter cookies!

Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers

2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container.

Sorry---full link didn't copy last post---will try again. If the treat page doesn't paste again, go to the bottom of The Canine Cookery home page and click on recipes. This is the only one I've put online so far.

The favorite by far at a market where I used to sell dog cookies--wheat-free/dairy-free with sweet potato & banana. Yum!

I mix up a stiff 'cookie' dough whenever I have a piece of leftover roast beef or am frying up some hamburger for sloppy joes, etc. and have some bacon drippings on hand.

Cut together like for a pie crust--crumbly:

1 cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 minced or cooked ground beef
1/4 cup bacon drippings
1/4 peanut butter

Add:
1/4 cup green beans (rinse well if using canned veggies)
1/4 cup diced, mashed, or shredded carrot
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk

Mix, process well adding plain flour (1 cup?) until you have a stiff dough.

Shape into biscuits, cookies, or 'peanuts' and back for about 30 minutes @ 350 until crispy.

I divide the dough into balls then roll into logs on a well-floured board. Cut the log into 1" pieces then roll each with your hand into peanut shapes. Place on a cookie sheet pinching in the middle and press on the two ends to flatten. Mark the tops with a fork like you would a peanutbutter cookie. I use an open-grid style pizza pan which puts a nice waffle pattern on the bottom of each biscuit.
