Q: Does anyone have experience with a Sato?
We found her at a shelter. She is 6 mos. old and seems very mellow and sweet...in fact, her name is Sweetie. She hardly barks, and is not riled up by barking dogs or passing trains. She is very kid friendly. She seems perfect for our apartment, but since we've never heard of a Sato before we're just not sure.

Sound like a great dog. I think breeds don't matter much as long as you have the time and know how to excersise and train a dog. Any breed can be a good dog with proper training.

The reason you haven't heard of the breed is because its actually not a breed. "Sato" is the spanish word for a dog that is of mixed breed, as used by island Puerto Ricans. So, if you want to learn more about the dog and its requirements as per its breed-type, you should try to figure out what she is a mix of. Try uploading a picture of her and maybe some of us ZooToo people can help you figure out what breeds she looks like. You could also ask your vet what he/she thinks the dogs mix is.
I say that if she seems like a perfect match for you, you should go for it regardless of whatever breed-mix she is. She sounds great!! Good luck with Sweetie! :)
