Q: Does anyone have any suggestions on training dumbbell work for AKC?

I have him taking it, holding it, doing tricks without dropping it, but i just can't seem to get him to retrieve. He retrieves toys just not the dumbbell...

I don't know I would ask a dog trainer. Skitters is that way she will not fetch anything at all I have been trying to train her to do that since she was a pup she just won't do it. But she loves to play soccer and jump over hurdles but she won't fetch cause she does not enjoy it I geuss so I would talk to a trainer maybe even a vet cause it might be a phsycological problem.
