Q: Does anyone else have birds that talk?

I'm sitting here laughing because I have two macaws in the living room telling each other to "High five" and then saying "Good job!!!!"
The one looked at the other and said "Rita, what ya doing babe?"
They constantly yell at the dogs to "lay down" and "stay", they tell the kids to "be quiet!" and correct each others grammer!!
It's totally like living at the funny farm here.

Does anyone else have 24/7 entertainment from their feathered friends who talk?

All of our birds talk (2 cockatoos, African Grey and a Macaw). The macaw is a recent adoption and is usually quite comical. But he'll ask to be let out of his cage "Out? Step up?" and if you tell him "not right now" he gets mad, turns his back, and says "Ah, f off". Not exactly what you want him saying when company is over.

I have sun conures and they do have a limited vocabulary. They can say step up, stop, make kissing noises, my female could say the males name, Shasta, and the male would say nite nite sweet baby. they make other general sounds.

WE have two macaws. The older one came to us saying mazziltof sp). We taught both, apple, hello, how are you, peek a boo and at times we will say peek and our youngest finishes it. When the phone rings they say Hello. They say Whats happening,French Fry. If they like something they say Yumm or make the noise MMMMM. We got them to make rasberries too,. Our youngest learned that very fast. Yes they are very very funny. THey both say each others names. They say SHSHSHSHS. and their favorite NO.

I use to have a Cockatiel, Sidney, who talked. I never actually trained him, he was just very intellignet and very social. I actually had him in the living room, so he was surrounded by stimulation daily. He would say pretty bird, I love you, and want some.

Now that I am writing this, I miss having a bird, maybe I need to make a trip the the shelter, mmmm, now see what you did!
