Q: Does anyone else have a cat that does the same thing at the same time everyday ?

My cat Calvin likes to sun bathe and everyday at the same time he goes up stairs to his favorite sunny spot.
He is my only cat that I notice that seems to have a sense of time, not related to food.

During the grey winter months the sun is like a gift. My cats will fight over a sunny spot to sleep in. When I had a dog she would also do the same. I think all animals have a sense of timing not related to food. It is something internal. I'm guessing it is one of there survival skills for the wild.

Both my cats have a sense of time also not related to food. They wake me up minutes before the alarm goes off in the morning. At first I thought it was related to light, but they manage to do it in the very deep dark of the winter.

The minute the first alarm goes off in the morning (and sometimes right before) my cat jumps by my side and purrs so loud. Then he flops himself down on me and waits for me to get up. He knows it's breakfast time when i do!

Millie does something like this. When I was living with my parents and had to get up for school, just before my alarm would go off, she would hop up on my bed and paw at me. I'm not sure why she would do this, but she'd even it on the weekends. It was just one part of her own little schedule that she'd set for herself, along with begging for food from 5-6pm and getting as much suntime in as she could.

I don't have cats, but my dogs do the same thing. They also love to lay in front of the fireplace. My yorkie especially loves this and will sometimes just sit and stare at the flames...so cute! But I know this fireplace/warmth thing also goes for the 4 cats that I watch sometimes :)

Our cats are always looking for the sunny spots also they can tell the time, they know when I have to be up in the morning, I never over sleep and they are always waiting for me when I return home and pine if I'm late.

My cat does the same thing she sits right in front of are the heat stove on a nice wooden chair. Her and my other cat sit there for hours. Witch is crazy because we live in the north and they act like there southern cats!

My cats simply lounge around our couch for most of the day. there doesnt seem to be a set time, but if you are looking for them, you can pretty much guess where to look
