I give my dogs antlers also, they love them. When they get down to a small piece, I take that away.

Deer antlers are actually sold as natural, long-lasting chew treats at some pet stores. They should be fine, as long as you monitor what your dog chews the same as you would with a bone or a rubber chew toy.

dogs shouldn't swallow anything that isn't bite sized and completely chewable. even if they don't splinter, which i've never heard of an un-splintering antler or bone {cooked or raw}, larger pieces can get lodged in their throats, cause digestive problems, or become toxic from all the metals in them.

wow I have never heard of giving a dog antlers. I do not think it would do any harm though.

Antlers are GREAT chewies. And, by the way, so are raw bones. COOKED bones splinter. Raw bones fresh from the butcher do not.
