Q: Does any one have ideas for good and cheap dog treats?

I sware that my dog goes through treats like crazy! Does anyone have ideas or recipies for treats that I can make myself?

Cat kibble makes a good (cheap) treat for training sessions. Just a small handful goes a long way, even for my four. Boo loves to catch them mid-air and Mimi does too if my aim is good.

Carrots are great yes and so are apples and veggies (not grapes or raisins) Don't over do any treats though. One reason is it may upset their stomach and the other is if you give treats for no reason they are no longer "special" and may not work for training. As any trainer will tell you dogs need to work for treats. It really makes them happy!

i buy chicken thighs when they go on sale andcook it over night inmy crock pot. themeat falls off the bone. i use the broth to flavor the kibble
