Q: Do your cats eat beef?

I just made the mistake of offering my spoiled brats an expensive beef cat food today. 2 of them turned it down, and one ate it, but very soon sprayed it all over. It was like a food allergy. I've fed them very little beef over the years, so I'm guessing that was the problem. Does anyone else have experience with beef intolerance in cats?

we tried beef cat food once they didn't mind it but there are others that they prefer more...roast beef on the other had that you get sliced in a deli they absolutely love that and they have no problem eating it...

I feed our animals raw, so they get beef, chicken, turkey, pork, and fish in its raw state. Have not have any trouble. I assume you're speaking of beef "cat food". Don't know what they put in it for preservatives, but that's probably the problem.

I have always given my cats beef. They all like it. Quite a few years ago the vets were saying not to give cats very much fish because of the ash content. I sarted then giving them beef. My cats today get beef, chicken, turkey and some fish.

We haven't give our cats beef - only chicken and fish varieties. Sounds awful.

I've never given mine any beef.They only get chicken,turkey and fish in the canned food and also for dry food.If they don't like one kind they don't eat it and go to a different kind.

The cat may have eaten it too fast. A sudden change in food can upset a cats system. A smaller amount of the food might be tolerated better. They could also just be trying to keep you guessing ;}

My cat is weird, she meows like she wants it then turns it down, then sneaks back up to eat it. She's never had a reaction to it though. I made the mistake of succumbing to her meows once and gave her cheese...NEVER again!

Beef is much higher in fat then other meats, so that may have caused the problem. My cats like chicken or turkey better, except for the one that will eat anything including popcorn and bread. LOL
