Do you think your dogs know when you getting ready to leave them and go on a trip?

Some people say no, I am simply projecting my feelings onto my dog. I tend to disagree. My dog has been very clingy this week. What do you think?

Yes, they know.
I use to travel every week and Sunday evenings I would be packing my bag and Woody would be watching and you could just sense his sadness. Monday mornings he would sit in the side yard and watch me back out of the driveway.
It was always good to get back home!

I know mine do...especially my lab, he is so smart. As soon as he sees the bags come out he gets so sad and will not leave my side for a second.

Of course! My dog Parker knows and gets all anxious when I go away on a trip. He gets excited to because he thinks he can come. My pet sitters always say he mopes for a day or two then comes around. And my chihuahua will skip a meal or two...

So sad but yes even if I am going away for the day Kasey looks so sad at me like why can't I go Mom. I truly believe that they know dogs can sense so many things when I am down he will but his head on my lap as if to give me a hug. They are so smart and are not given enough recognition about it.

My cats always know. While I'm packing, they become very curious about my suitcase. They also act a little "squirrely" the morning that we are about to leave. When we have to board them, they have a nasty habit of playing their hide-and-go-seek games before we put them in the carriers.

Some animals, I guess, are very attached to there owners. My dog stays at a kennel when we go on a trip. I think that she knows when we are going to leave he, because she is in a place that she does not know. My sister and brother-in-law's dog knows when they are even leaving the house. He goes to the window and looks for them and starts to whine. Even if they are just going to the car he does this. He also knows when they are coming back from where they were. He comes right to the door.

I absolutely know think that dogs and cats know. There are feelings of anxiety that you may be passing along due to the regular pressures of getting things ready, etc. Animals are very perceptive. They even know when you are sick. Never underestimate the powers of your pet. They often know before you do that something is out of the norm.
