Do you think your dogs know when you getting ready to leave them and go on a trip?

Some people say no, I am simply projecting my feelings onto my dog. I tend to disagree. My dog has been very clingy this week. What do you think?

I think they know. I think they are very in tune to any signs we give that something is going on.

As soon as my dog sees the hot pink suitcases she knows, then she sticks to me like glue!!! I have had to leave her behind a couple of times when I was in the hospital and that did not go over very well with her because usually she always goes with me so when she sees the pink she panics but as soon as she sees me sit her bag with mine and get her dressed she is fine. But to answer you question, I say YES they know when you are leaving....:)

Sure I do. I have 3 small dogs, and they stress when i go to work. They aren't dumb. they know Momma's leaving.

ya i think my dogs do. they like quard the door and cry a lot and create a lot of distractions to prevent me from leaving. it's sad annoying and cute at the same time.

My cat knows when I'm going to be leaving for a few days. She's alot more clingy, needy and vocal.

Absolutely! Ours know what's going to go on and on what day of the week-by what we might be doing or saying or how we're dressed. Just picking up the hairdryer-not even turning it on. Touching the toothpaste. Pretty much, we can't even move toward our car keys, let alone pick them up. Also, many obvious words we stopped saying [ like doggie day care] and started spelling, but they now can spell. They love the convertible and can tell the sound of that starting up versus either of the other 2 cars. Clingy sometimes is just a natural trait-Our female OES we refer to as "Velcro"

Animals most def know when you are leaving.. my dog knows by the bag I am bringing and the shoes I put on where I am going.. if it isn't the old sneakers I wear to the kennels or my work boots she sits by the door ready to go. If I have my old sneakers and by backpack or my work bag and work boots she sits by the couch and pouts.. whenever I pull out a suitcase or overnight duffel bag they give me know love.
