Last weekend when we were naming the puppies well they were the seven dwarfs we were just deciding which one each puppy was when it came to Dopey we almost didn't name her Dopey cause we were debating if it was really okay or not to call a puppy Dopey even if it was naming her after one of the seven dwarfs, we finally went ahead and named her Dopey but I still don't know if it is nice or not to call a puppy Dopey what do you think is it mean to call a puppy Dopey?

Another thing to remember is that the majority of people change the pet's name after they adopt it, so Dopey could very well become Magda or Sophie once she's adopted...or she could become Nuisance or Goofy! You just never know.

I think it's very sweet for a puppy, b/c they're all kinda dopey at that age. As long as she's not the last one, chances are everyone will get how you chose that name.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Names like that are terms of endearment when you're referring to your pet. It invokes an image of a cute, lovable, silly dog. I've known dogs named Nuisance, Goofy, etc. They were all loved beyond belief and if there was a reaction to their names at all, it was giggles and laughs. They don't know the definition of those words.
