There are already small "punishments" for cruelty of puppy mill runners, should there be equal or lesser punishment for knowingly purchasing a puppy from one?

I think there should be, if a store was maybe going to get a fine for buying a mill pup they might quit buying them then the mill would eventually go out of business. No demand.

Yes, I do. However, our pet stores in columbia mo do not sell pets. Puppy mills usually sell their own puppies online to make it harder to track them or prosecute them in case of a problem. I think we need more inspectors for the breeding facilities. In Missouri we don't have enough inspectors to get these people shut down. The dogs in the photo were taken from a bad breeder who broke their bones.

I think people should stop buying dogs from pet shops. If there was no demand, it would stop. Start a public awareness campaign in your town.
