Q: Do you put bows in a male dogs hair?

Well if its just to clip it out his eyes,
then I would be doing it too.
I guess the main thing is that he looks cute,
whether boy or girl!

Well a lot of human males wear earrings, or long braids held neatly with a rubber band. Many of these fellows ride Harley's and don't dance or like art......I wouldn't be calling them a sissy even if they had a bow somewhere. I think I might like one of those little "ponies" - the rubberbands that are colored - some have silver threads in them and would be cute. Maybe a more masculine kind of collar or tag would make him look a bit more macho. Don't let her paint his toenails tho.......get a girl dog and let her have at it!

clipping their hair so it stays out of their eyes would be a good alternative...or maybe a more macho clip...

No way ,my dog McGuinness is a boy. But he does not have long fur. But if it keeps the fur out of your dogs eyes.Then maybe thats's a good thing :)

My mother has a male shih-tzu and she always puts bows in his hair to keep his bangs out of his eyes. She uses bows that are red, black, blue, green you know "boy" colors. I think he looks adorable. And see nothing wrong with it at all.

i have a male yorkie and i put bows in his hair too, just never pink ones

maybe you should try bobby pins or hair clips, something that camouflages better. or at least try to make whatever you put a little manlier like black browns or grays.. definitely steer clear of bright girly colors, and pastels

This is kinda funny because I have a male Shih-Tzu also and I love putting bows in his hair! He thinks he pretty! But on the serious side if you keep his hair long tying it up will keep the hair out of his eyes. Don't think it's dumb, if it makes you feel better just make sure your mom uses blue bows!

Some dogs just have long bangs, but it isn't good for their eyes. Perhaps you and your mom could come up with some other ideas to keeping the hair out of the dogs eyes that you both agree on. Would it look better or worse to cut the fur? Maybe a clip that was closer in color to the fur so it doesn't stand out as much...I'm sure you both can come up with some ideas :)

Sure thing! I have Yorkies and if you don't want to cut his "bangs" you should put it up so his eyes don't get crusty and dirty.
