Q: Do you plan vacations with your dogs?

Many of my dog friends plan their vacations to places they can bring their dogs with them. I was curious if this is becoming more common.

I have a country acreage but when all four kids come home I'm glad that they won't ALL bring their animals because they all have house pets and it makes it very hard to keep things under control at times.

It is becoming a little bit more common, however with the bad economy it's not too popular since you have to pay more to stay at a hotel with a dog.

We celebrate our wedding anniversary every year at the beach. We take our dog with us and stay at the Lorelei on Treasure Island. The Lorelei allows pets to bring their owners. It's a great place to stay if you want to take your pet. While we are there, we visit the dog beach at nearby Ft. Desoto Park.

Oh yes holidays, when we get them, always include us taking the dogs, we have a caravan and the dogs have their crate to sleep in , the only difficult thing is many places are not so dog friendly these days, and if we have to leave them in the car it can get too hot.

I think it is becoming more common. I just took my dogs on a vacation with me last week and we had a great time. I think it is getting easier to find places that will allow you to bring your pets. I do take vacations without my pets also, but it is always fun to bring them with me.

As loved as my pets are, my family usually gets another family member to take care of them while we are gone. My brother usually stays at our house for the time being. I would love to bring them though.

Most of the time we take our two little dogs with us. Twice I think we left them at the kennel right at our vets office. The girls are so nice to them and if something should happen there is always a doctor on hand. I can call on them daily to see how they are doing so that makes it easier on me too.

I love to travel with my two small dogs. It's alot easier now to find pet friendly hotels. The W in Times Square was so much fun but our favorite was a special birthday weekend at the Ritz Carlton on Central Park. Sure, I miss out on some things but I gladly trade fine dining for long walks in a new environment and relaxing with my dogs in a fabulous room!

We generally leave our pets at home and get someone to take care of them for us while we are away.

I always try to take my dog with me when I leave town. I want to share my vacation experiences with her, and I would feel guilty that I was leaving her out if I didn't.
