Are you looking to raise money? Or supplies for a local shelter? I know a local shelter always does a 5k run along with a walk with animals every year. They have many booths set up with local companies that sell pet products and so forth. I would like to come up with an idea to have people donate blankets, food, toys and ect. after our local garage sale day instead of taking it somewhere else or just tossing it in the trash. Another idea could be like a bingo game. Our shelter has a bingo night once a month and they raise good money. You could do a pet parade where everyone pays $5 to enter their pet. Just shooting out ideas.

Host a dog-agility funrun day with all the proceeds going to your favorite shelter.

This may sound crazy, but there are mediums who evidently can communicate with pets who have passed. One that I know of calls them "Fur Babies." Some will donate their services for charitable causes. These "Message Circles" are wildly popular with a great many people. Folks will pay anywhere from $20 to $50 dollars a piece to attend a circle. I was an absolute sceptic until I helped out with one. Peoples' reactions were amazing and the evening raised close to $1000 dollars. It works really well if you have a large room you can use for free. You just need about 50 chairs. Just a suggestion, but it can be a very interesting and profitable event.

Several shelters here do 'pet walks' and they are usually quite productive. I've also known of 2 events where some volunteers did a 'drive in' doggie nail event. One called it a "Pawdicure" and the other called it a "Peticure"! Lots of teens volunteered their time to paint doggie nails in pretty colors-and evryone seemed to have fun. A shopping center donated space to the one group-and the kids even sold drinks to raise extra funds.

We recently did a fundraiser selling Papa Murphy cards that contained about $20 worth of coupons off their pizzas. The cards cost us $1 and we sold them for $10.
Another favorite fundraiser is our waffle breakfast. Once we did a cookbook and we made a pretty good profit. We also do an annual dog walk where people get sponsors to pledge money for them and their dog. Around Thanksgiving time we sold frozen Butter Braids and cookie dough that you thaw and bake - they were delicious. Good luck with your fundraising!

Try selling advertizing plaques to businesses listing the business names as supporters of your organization and hanging them for public recognition. That way the businesses can write their donations off as advertizing expenses. You can use different size plaques depending on the donation amount or the length of time the donation covers, 1 yr., 2 yr., 3 yr., etc.,. Alot of businesses look for year end expenditures specificately to get rid of money. And as a business expense you could get several hundred to several thousand dollars.

I have friends in a band and we're doing an easy, fun benefit show. The plus here is that we will draw our own crowd thru our volunteers and supporters, but we also get the benfeit of their regular group of fans! It's going to be great!

I work for Texas Roadhouse and I know there are hundreds around the country. They have a great gift certificate fund raiser and also a 10% fund raiser night where you invite all your supporters out to eat and 10% of the total bill goes back to your group. You can contact one in your area for specific details!
