Q: Do you have a Christmas Eve tradition?

I've usually worked on Christmas Eve so we've rarely ever had big plans for that day. I no longer have to work on it and am trying to think of something fun to do with my family. I'd love to get some suggestions and hear what you do on that day.

Our immediate family, meaning my daughters and their familes, all get together for a Lasagna Dinner and they open their gifts. We tag along, but then visit them each Christmas day and deliver their gifts. My sister-in-law(lives 2 hours away) has a huge Christmas Eve buffet. We used to drive down, yes all of us, to visit with the entire family on my husband's side. It's just too difficult to that now. It's a shame as my brother-in-law sets up the most elaborate train village under his tree. It's a work of art and the children truly are fascinated by it.

We arrange the presents under the tree, put the tree topper on, eat kielbasa sandwiches, and watch movies.

for a while, my sister and a friend and i would always go to Bennigan's on Christmas eve for dinner. i posted a journal entry about the first Christmas we did this, which was very memorable and bizarre. but then last year they started closing early on Christmas eve, and now...there's no more Bennigan's here, so our tradition is officially dead. :(
