Courtney, you appear to have an obsession with bodily functions. You want to know if fish fart and why they poop as well as what color raccoon poop is and why your cat's poop smells. Does your mom know you're spending so much valuable time on the computer? :-)

Ha ha!! Im have 2 ponds with fish so I try to keep up with the latest. They do get "gassy" but that normally is seen in the stool like bubbles between the more solid waste and the stool is more likely to float. It is a sign that something is amiss if you see it often. I don't know about just passing gas--you stumped me and my fish won't talk about it!

Well, Jessica proved this question isn't just a lot of hot air! Can you tell we've been pranked before on here by our reactions? I imagine they'll even find a military use before long. I do know they have studied and fish feel pain, so all you fisherpeople who throw your catch back after ripping out their eyes and mouths with your hooks. Stop it!

What an odd question, look for little bubbles coming from the tail area. Good Luck, that should fill some of your time
