Dogs DO NOT have the cleanest mouths, they have bacteria that reside in their mouths that can cause infection if you are bitten (all animals do in fact). So if you are ever bitten by any animal wash your wound out RIGHT AWAY with plenty of antibacterial soap, and call your doctor for a reccomendation. Antibiotics aren't always necessary but can be a good idea, esp if you have a deep puncture wound.

the dog mouth may have germs, but a human bite is more critical to care for. The kiss from my dog is worth the germs, that is why we have soap and water.
