Q: Do any public schools have any animal education classes?

I was just thinking how many schools actually educate children on the proper way to care for animals. We all know that the kids are the future. And how many shelters consider visiting schools to educate or is this even an option for them? I wonder why we as parents can not push the issue in the schools even if it is part of a home education class it would be a strat. Has anyone else ever thought about this?

Our high school has a class in small animals. It is offered in the agricutural department. As part of the class people bring in cats, dogs, and small animals for the students to interact with.

Habitat for Horses has a Pennies for Ponies program that educates the kids about caring for horses and the responsibility of owning a pet, then we bring a horse to visit them at the school ;)
