Hello all! I apologize if this has been asked before, but I'm trying to find resources on how to build your own cat furniture with as little expense or knowledge as possible. (I'm usually broke and pretty much all thumbs when it comes to things like hammers.) Does anyone have any links or advice they could share? thanks!

The Habitat For Humanity ReStore will have some cheap supplies you can reuse and build into cat furniture.

You can use things such as 2x4's and wrap them in carpet with flat piece of wood at the top and bottom or just the bottow wrapped in carpet as well. it wouldnt take long and would just need wood a couple of nails and old carpet.

Go to the website StepsforPets.com. I got a huge cat tree for less than $100, and they delivered it for free! They have lots of different sizes if you can't spend that much, and it was really easy to put together, just a few bolts needed to be tightened with an Allen wrench, which they included!

You can probably get a piece of carpet remnant and cover pvc pipes with strong non-toxic glue or cover priority mail mailers that are free at the post office. There is also a FREE exchange service online. I'm not sure what the address is, but another option would be to shop garage sales or your local classified ads.

take a look at this site. I am going to be trying this next weekend. After looking at the photos I figured it would be easy to make one of these with just plastic PVC pipes and joints you buy at a hardware store. cover the pipes with fabric and glue it down then build just like tinker toys.
