Dogs that bark constantly are usually extremely bored and under stimulated. Five dogs?? That really seems like a lot for anyone to take care of, so i hope that you have a large enough house and yard for these dogs to play and have space to relax in. Every dog (even small dogs) need a long walk each day. This should help take care of the problem.

Also, have you identified what they are barking at? If they are barking out the window, for example, try closing the blinds or curtains. Reward them for being quiet, and resist the urge to yell at them for barking. Dogs usually start barking when another dog is barking, so to them, you yelling seems like you are simply joining in and may encourage the behavior. Crate training may also help give you some peace and quiet.

The best advice I can give you though is to walk your dogs and to spend some quality time with them each day playing with them. I know it's hard to force yourself to get out each day and walk. But even if the walk is short, its better than nothing. I just remind myself that I am working on my own health as well!

It sounds like your dogs either have excess energy and/or something around your house is annoying them--or both. Perhaps your dogs need more exercise??? A long walk each day may help the situation.

I think you have received some good advice so far. I would start by making sure the dogs do get a lot of exercise so that they are tired. This is a good opportunity to provide mental stimulation for them as well. Then look at what is setting off the barking and see if it something that can be "removed" for example by closing the blinds/curtains on the windows. If there is one dog that starts the barking, focus more on that dog. The other thing I would suggest is having a routine at bedtime so that the dogs learn this is time to quiet down and settle in for the night.
