Tomato or Lemon juice. Anything with an acidic base will neutralize the smell of the skunk. As Stephanie said keep washing until it.... It can take up to 15-20 washes. Be careful of the dogs eyes and sensitive areas with the acidic juices it can make them sore with that many washes. As Stephanie stated they don't learn it can and will happen again. You may want to rotate out lemon and tomato juice even I have heard that helps too. I sure don't envy you on this one. You may want to get a respirator for yourself to wear as well and some googles to make it easier on yourself. Good luck.

As a groomer in a vet hospital Iv'e done this too many times to count. 1/4 cup bleach in a gallon jug(it won't hurt the dog just be careful around the eyes) mixed with shampoo. Leave it on about 4 to 5 minutes. Rinse then wash again with just shampoo. If needed do it again the next day. Less messy and cheaper that tomato juice and works better in my opinion.

TOMATO JUICE! Just keep bathing your dog in tomato juice until the smell goes away. Then give him/her a nice bath with some good smelling shampoo to get rid of the tomato smell! :) Good luck!

Also, you'd think they would learn and not do it again, but I guarantee you if your dog sees another skunk, he will go after it again.... they never learn! haha!
