Q: careers involving animals and travel

September 29, 2008 | By Cmmoo | 3 answers | Expired: 2117 days ago

So I'm looking for a career involving animals and traveling. My true passion would to become a conservationist and travel to certain parts of the world to educate other countries on the matters of endangered species, but that would take some great deal of money. I've always been interested in animals, preferrably exotic animals, and I've always wanted to travel abroad! Problem is I can't find a career involving the two!!! I've thought about becoming a vet, and if in the end no other job becomes appealing, I'll go into Veterinary Medicine. I would just like a more hands on approach to a career with animals rather than putting them to sleep and doing surgery on them. Hope someone can help me!! Thanks!~!

Hello:

Some alternatives are managing an animal shelter or rescue, working for the USDA as a field agent, or working for one of the many veterinary health/product manufacturers. Hope that helps and good luck!

You can become a "vet without borders" and achieve both.

When your a vet you don't have to help on surgury but maybe if you do have to you can be a zoo volunteer. That might work for you.=)
