GP's are happy when they purr! They need a high quality pellet food and as much hay as they like. Feeding them a daily serving of fresh greens is generally recommended also (feeding is generally the same as a rabbit). Romaine lettuce, parsley, and many other greens are good options. Oxbow has great high quality (fresh) pellets and hay. They have information on their website on care and feeding for most small animals too. Check them out at www.oxbowhay.com. Our GP adored her hay and veggies, and she had a long and happy life!

They need pellets from pet store & the purring is a good thing as a treat my guinea pig love blueberries I would buy them frozen, no syrup or sugar defrost and give her about 10 berries a day also timothy hay is good there is probably a list on a website they need the pellets because they do not produce vitamin C, don't overdo lettuce or fruits that you give it is dangerous for them if they get diarrhea or get constipated if either happen call a Vet that specializes in exotic's (Thats what they are considered) Good luck wit your pet

They can eat commercial foods specifically processed for guinea pigs as well as timothy hay. I recommend that, they also make treats. Try visiting your local pet store, do you have a PetCo or Petsmart near you?
And they purr when they are happy! This website should help you understand what your guinea pig noises mean:
